Of the 119 pupils who finished Year 11 at Longbenton High School in 2023, 32% stayed on in Longbenton High School’s own sixth form (North Tyneside average 40%), 43% went to a further education college and 10% started an apprenticeship.
Apprenticeships are a real route from here: 10% of leavers started one, roughly three times the England figure of 3%.
Among the 40 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 43% went to university (North Tyneside 57%, England 37%), and 28% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 18% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.
