What the data says

Of the 174 pupils who finished Year 11 at Thomas Telford School in 2023, 77% stayed on in Thomas Telford School’s own sixth form (Telford and Wrekin average 29%), 10% went to a further education college and 7% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 305 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 61% went to university (Telford and Wrekin 35%, England 37%), and 32% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

Art and Design is unusually popular at GCSE: 33% of the year group took it, against 7% of pupils across England.

A level grades average B, above the England average of B-; 28% of students achieved AAB or better including two facilitating subjects (England 18%). The largest A level subjects are Biology, Mathematics and Psychology.
