What the data says

Of the 171 pupils who finished Year 11 at The Eastbourne Academy in 2023, 11% moved to a sixth form college, 73% to a further education college and none started an apprenticeship.

Statistics is unusually popular at GCSE: 89% of the year group took it, against 5% of pupils across England.

GCSE results in 2025 were well below the national picture: Attainment 8 of 37.7 against 46.1 across England and 43.1 in East Sussex, with 25% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).

Almost nobody goes straight into an apprenticeship or a job: none took an apprenticeship and 2% went into work, against 3% and 3% across England.
