What the data says

Of the 191 pupils who finished Year 11 at Teignmouth Community School, Exeter Road in 2023, 38% stayed on in Teignmouth Community School, Exeter Road’s own sixth form (Devon average 23%), 48% went to a further education college and 4% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 58 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 9% went to university (Devon 25%, England 37%), and 10% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 12% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.

Photography is unusually popular at GCSE: 29% of the year group took it, against 6% of pupils across England.

GCSE results in 2025 were below the national picture: Attainment 8 of 42.3 against 46.1 across England and 45.4 in Devon, with 38% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).
