Of the 211 pupils who finished Year 11 at Carmel College in 2023, 53% stayed on in Carmel College’s own sixth form (Darlington average 12%), 21% went to a further education college and 5% started an apprenticeship.
Among the 138 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 54% went to university (Darlington 36%, England 37%), and 36% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.
Religious Studies is unusually popular at GCSE: 100% of the year group took it, against 31% of pupils across England.
