Of the 195 pupils who finished Year 11 at Brixham College in 2023, 27% stayed on in Brixham College’s own sixth form (Torbay average 38%), 60% went to a further education college and 4% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 60 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 32% went to university (Torbay 24%, England 37%), and 10% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

GCSE results in 2025 were well below the national picture: Attainment 8 of 36.7 against 46.1 across England and 47.4 in Torbay, with 22% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).

Sociology is unusually popular at GCSE: 28% of the year group took it, against 4% of pupils across England.
