Of the 130 pupils who finished Year 11 at Sir John Talbot's School in 2023, 32% stayed on in Sir John Talbot's School’s own sixth form (Shropshire average 15%), 40% went to a further education college and 5% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 32 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 34% went to university (Shropshire 36%, England 37%), and 25% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

Religious Studies is unusually popular at GCSE: 97% of the year group took it, against 31% of pupils across England.

A level grades average C-, well below the England average of B-; 3% of students achieved AAB or better including two facilitating subjects (England 18%). The largest A level subjects are Psychology, Religious Studies and History.
