Of the 293 pupils who finished Year 11 at The City of Leicester College in 2023, 43% stayed on in The City of Leicester College’s own sixth form (Leicester average 18%), 14% went to a further education college and 1% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 153 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 60% went to university (Leicester 40%, England 37%), and 12% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

Sixth form colleges are the main next step: 34% of leavers went to one, roughly twice the England rate of 13%.

Sociology is unusually popular at GCSE: 21% of the year group took it, against 4% of pupils across England.
