What the data says

Of the 233 pupils who finished Year 11 at Emmanuel College in 2023, 66% stayed on in Emmanuel College’s own sixth form (Gateshead average 40%), 25% went to a further education college and 3% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 126 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 70% went to university (Gateshead 33%, England 37%), and 39% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

Religious Studies is unusually popular at GCSE: 95% of the year group took it, against 31% of pupils across England.

Almost every leaver found a sustained destination: only 2% were not in education, work or training six months on, against 6% nationally.
