What the data says

Of the 163 pupils who finished Year 11 at Brimsham Green School in 2023, 40% stayed on in Brimsham Green School’s own sixth form (South Gloucestershire average 36%), 36% went to a further education college and 10% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 59 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 61% went to university (South Gloucestershire 26%, England 37%), and 13% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally; 12% started an apprenticeship, well above the 7% England average.

Apprenticeships are a real route from here: 10% of leavers started one, roughly three times the England figure of 3%.

Design and Technology is unusually popular at GCSE: 30% of the year group took it, against 11% of pupils across England.
