Of the 129 pupils who finished Year 11 at Hanham Woods Academy in 2023, 10% stayed on in Hanham Woods Academy’s own sixth form (South Gloucestershire average 36%), 28% went to a further education college and 14% started an apprenticeship.

Apprenticeships are a real route from here: 14% of leavers started one, roughly three times the England figure of 3%.

Sociology is unusually popular at GCSE: 26% of the year group took it, against 4% of pupils across England.

Sixth form colleges are the main next step: 33% of leavers went to one, roughly twice the England rate of 13%.
