What the data says

Of the 141 pupils who finished Year 11 at Seaton Valley High School in 2023, 53% stayed on in Seaton Valley High School’s own sixth form (Northumberland average 43%), 29% went to a further education college and 5% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 59 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 37% went to university (Northumberland 48%, England 37%), and 14% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

A level grades average C-, well below the England average of B-; 10% of students achieved AAB or better including two facilitating subjects (England 18%). The largest A level subjects are Psychology, Mathematics and English Literature.

Physical Education is unusually popular at GCSE: 22% of the year group took it, against 11% of pupils across England.
