What the data says

Of the 284 pupils who finished Year 11 at Jo Richardson Community School in 2023, 45% stayed on in Jo Richardson Community School’s own sixth form (Barking and Dagenham average 49%), 39% went to a further education college and 2% started an apprenticeship.

Among the 131 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 76% went to university (Barking and Dagenham 45%, England 37%), and 25% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.

Media Studies is unusually popular at GCSE: 23% of the year group took it, against 4% of pupils across England.

GCSE results in 2025 were above the national picture: Attainment 8 of 50.2 against 46.1 across England and 48.4 in Barking and Dagenham, with 49% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).
