What the data says

Of the 10 pupils who finished Year 11 at The Cedars Academy in 2023, 0% stayed on in The Cedars Academy’s own sixth form (Gateshead average 40%), none went to a further education college and 10% started an apprenticeship.

GCSE results in 2025 were well below the national picture: Attainment 8 of 0.9 against 46.1 across England and 47.0 in Gateshead, with 4% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).

Apprenticeships are a real route from here: 10% of leavers started one, roughly three times the England figure of 3%.

Almost every leaver found a sustained destination: only 0% were not in education, work or training six months on, against 6% nationally.
