What the data says

Of the 109 pupils who finished Year 11 at Yate Academy in 2023, 40% stayed on in Yate Academy’s own sixth form (South Gloucestershire average 36%), 35% went to a further education college and 9% started an apprenticeship.

Apprenticeships are a real route from here: 9% of leavers started one, roughly three times the England figure of 3%.

GCSE results in 2025 were well above the national picture: Attainment 8 of 54.8 against 46.1 across England and 42.9 in South Gloucestershire, with 60% of pupils getting grade 5 or above in both English and maths (England 45%).

Among the 39 students who left the sixth form in 2023, 36% went to university (South Gloucestershire 26%, England 37%), and 15% of level 3 students progressed to one of the most selective universities, against 19% nationally.
